About AskPoirot, Very fast engine for searching in one go one or several sets of words in hundreds of files created by wordprocessors, pagemakers etc. In fact, if you write a lot, there may come a time when you are indoubt whether a certain word has always been spelled correctly: here comes AskPoirot's usefulness,since you can make a search of the mispelled word and after a while you will see which of your filescontain the mispelled word. Again, through AskPoirot it is possible to know how many times a givenword/sentence occurs in all of your files and in each file.- To speed up the process, it is possibleto tell AskPoirot which kind of files are not to be processed.- Text-font and -size of the Search/Replace fields and of the Result list may be modified (i.e. the user is not bound to the System Font!): this approch is very convenient for users who have often to switch from texts in Roman charactersto texts using, for example, Cyrillic etc. characters (in the screenshot: Bengali script).- It is possible to preview the context of the words/sentences found.- Replace function available for text-files.- The Favorites Menu helps speeding up the process of accessing folders containing documents that require frequent checking. |
