About Fredals Dictionary, This program raises the standard for computer-based dictionaries. Unlike most such references, FD was not transported from a printed reference to a computerized version. It was designed as a computerprogram from the beginning and consequently takes full advantage of computer capabilities. That being the case, this program has features not found in ordinary dictionaries. For example, its phoneticsearch algorithm permits one to find words he is unable to spell. It also p permits one to search the definition database for any word or phrase. This creates a list of related entries base on the common use of a key word. (e.g. "fear" makes a list of phobias. and "President " ofPresidents). |
