Webaroo enables you to surf and search portions of the web that interest you without an Internet connection. It works by compressing and downloading relevant content to your hard drive, which you canthen search and surf, using a browser based search engine interface. Webaroo offers several pre-compiled web packs that include content for specific interests or locations, and you can also add your favorite web sites to the list. Adding of custom URLs is rather limited though, and we would have expected to see some options to gather search engine results, news reports or similar content. Unlike other webpage downloaders, Webaroo analyzes the content and select the pages that are most relevant to the topic and require the least storage space. Your content can then be browsed on your PC or laptop, or synchronized to a mobile device. The currently available selection of web packs includes allof Wikipedia, several city guides, World Fact Book and much more. |
