Prisma Firewall is a basic firewall that monitors your Internet and network connections and grants or denies access based on user defined rules. It offers a learning mode that will prompt you wheneveran application is trying to use your Internet connection, and you can choose to temporarily or always allow the program to connect. This feature however comes with a major flaw. Unlike almost any application firewall today, Prisma Firewall does not generate fingerprints of the applications that itgrants access, and therefore simple renaming or replacing operation can fool the firewall and easily penetrate the protection. In addition to application based blocking, the firewall also supports packet filtering which can be manually configured with standard rules based on IP, port and protocol,and you can easily allow or block IP addresses from the Intruder and activity logs. |
